Emma is a social development consultant with particular expertise in gender issues. She brings 18 years professional experience from work with and for women’s rights organisations, bilateral donor agencies (notably DFID), UN agencies, international NGOs and academic institutions including the Institute of Development Studies in Sussex. She spent six years as communications and research officer for the International Community of Women Living with HIV (ICW).
Her career has focused on research, evaluation, policy analysis/development and communications regarding gender and development, particularly HIV, violence against women and girls and sexual and reproductive health and rights. Emma has coordinated and worked on research, evaluation and communications projects for Social Development Direct, the Salamander Trust, ICW and BRIDGE. Most recently she worked on the research project led by the Sophia Forum and the Terrence Higgins Trust – Invisible no Longer: Women and HIV.
