Why do we want to hear from you?

‘HIV and Women: Invisible No Longer’ is a one-year project led by Sophia Forum and Terrence Higgins Trust which aims to shine a spotlight on women affected by HIV.

Although around a third of people living with HIV in the UK are women, and a quarter of all new HIV diagnoses are in women, there is little attention to women’s specific needs and experiences in HIV research, policy and programming.

This project aims to change that. We will draw on existing literature and evidence and generate new data to provide a comprehensive overview of the situation for women and girls in the UK living with or vulnerable to acquiring HIV.

Help us find out how HIV affects women in the UK we have released two surveys:

  1. This survey is for women living with HIV to share your experiences of living with HIV
  2. This survey is for women who are not living with HIV to share your experiences of HIV prevention (the information and services you want to help prevent HIV)

A project report will be launched in April 2018.

If you would like more information about the surveys, if you would like to be kept up to date with the project, or if you would like to be involved with our media work around HIV and women, please contact [email protected].
