Sophia Forum promotes and advocates for the rights, health, welfare and dignity of women living with HIV through research, raising awareness and influencing policy. We exist to empower all women living with HIV to reach their full potential, and to ensure their voices are heard and their needs prioritised within, policy, research, the health sector and wider society.
Our vision is a world where nothing stands in the way of all women living with HIV enjoying their right to a dignified, fulfilled and healthy life.
We work to achieve this through:
- Developing and delivering our advocacy programme
- Bringing together information and research on the issues affecting women living with HIV
- Creating partnerships with organisations and individuals delivering services
- Building relationships with policy makers
The lived experience of women with HIV drives everything we do. A third of our trustees and all staff have lived experience. We ensure women living with HIV are meaningfully involved in all aspects of our organisation, including leadership roles, our programmes and campaigns.
